Jamaica’s under-17 Reggae Girlz will open their account in the Under-17 Concacaf Women’s Championship qualification today against Guyana in Group D at Stadion Guillermo Prospero Trinidad in Oranjestad, Aruba, starting at 2 p.m.

The match marks the second meeting between the nations in Concacaf women’s U-17 qualifiers.

Their prior match was a 5-0 win to Jamaica in 2011, thanks to a hat-trick from Shadie Shirley, along with goals from Tiffany Robinson and Nicola Broderick.

Jamaica are undefeated against Caribbean teams in U17 women’s qualifiers, while Guyana are winless in nine matches against regional opposition, scoring only two goals.

Round One of the qualifiers will run from January 24 to February 2, marking the first phase of the qualification process toward the FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup 2026 in Morocco.

The opening round will feature up to 30 member associations across the region, with nations battling for advancement to the final phase.

Round one of the 2026 Concacaf Women’s U17 Qualifiers will determine the eight nations, group winners and two best second-place finishers, that will move onto the final round and join the four top-ranked teams in the region, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the United States, who received byes to the final round.

The 12 participating teams in the final round will compete for four slots to represent Concacaf at the global competition, set to take place in Morocco from October to November of this year.

Honduras and St Vincent and the Grenadines join Jamaica, Guyana, and hosts Aruba in Group D.
