Calabar score massive win in ISSA basketball
CALABAR HIGH were the biggest winners in the ISSA urban under-19 schoolboys basketball competition, as the Red Hills Road-based school dismissed St Catherine High 77-24. Keneil Brown, with 23 points, led the way for the victors.
Tivoli High, St George’s College, and Jamaica College also had under-19 victories on the day.
Led by Kimary Brown, Tivoli got the better of Wolmer’s Boys 76-34. Jamaica College stopped St Jago 65-26, while St George’s College defeated Excelsior High 53-32.
St George’s turned the tables on Calabar in under-16 action after dismissing them 46-17, with Chadrick Stricker scoring 24 points for the winners.
In other under-16 results, Wolmer’s drubbed Meadowbrook 73-3 and Jamaica College defeated St Jago 34-17.
There was also action in the rural competition on Thursday, with Herbert Morrison Technical leading the way with a double victory. Their under-16 team, led by a strong all-round performance from Michael Johnson – 22 points, seven rebounds, six steals, and four assists – easily got by York Castle High 63-10.
