The St Mary police have apprehended another of the prisoners who escaped from custody at the Oracabessa Police Lock-Up on December 21, 2023.

The fugitive, identified as 26-year-old Phillip Williams, also known as 'Boe', from Belfield, St Mary, was facing charges of shooting with intent.

He, along with six other prisoners, reportedly used a hacksaw blade to create an opening in the metal ventilation system of the lock-up and escaped in the early morning.

On Tuesday, a targeted operation was conducted in the Guava Road area of Belfield and Williams was reportedly discovered sleeping under a house.

He was recaptured and taken into custody.

Four other escapees have already been recaptured.

The remaining escapees are 21-year-old Nolando Akenson of Pimento Walk, St Ann, and Boscobel, St Mary, who was charged with robbery; and 28-year-old Gaveen Hurd of Stony Hill, St Andrew, and Enfield, St Mary, who was charged with murder.

The police are reminding citizens that it is an offence to harbour a fugitive, and that persons with information that can assist in locating the other escapees are being encouraged to contact the Oracabessa Police at 876-726-0698, Crime Stop at 311, the JCF tip line at 811, or the nearest police station.
