The St. Lucian opposition leader Kenny Anthony criticised the government for what he views as its eagerness to sign the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Europe and the Caribbean.
Dr. Anthony said he is perplexed by the willingness of Prime Minister Stephenson King to sign the liberalised trade agreement, despite opposition from Guyana and labour groups.
He also took issue with the Prime Minister\'s assurances that the deal would protect the country\'s banana industry.
The signing of the EPA has been delayed, in part, to take account of the objections raised by Guyana.
