The ministry of health has lifted the restriction on the sale of the children medication, Zyrtec.
The ministry had suspended the sale of children’s preparations, which included Zrytec, Tylenol, Benadryl, Tylenol Plus and Motrin.
The products were recalled by McNeil Consumer Health Care, a US based company because they did not meet required quality specifications.
The health ministry said the preparation for Zyrtec Oral solution is manufactured in Italy by Glaxo Smith Kline and is imported directly to Jamaica from the European Market.
The Zyrtec affected by the recall is manufactured in the United States.
It is for this reason the ministry has reinstated the use of Zyrtec Oral Solution on the local market.
