Kemar Roach (left) and Kraigg Brathwaite of the West Indies celebrate the dismissal of Najmul Hossain Shanto of Bangladesh before lunch on Thursday's first day of the first Test between Bangladesh and West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium in North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda.

West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach and medium-pacer Kyle Mayers snared two wickets each, as Bangladesh went into lunch on day one of the first Test in a spot of bother at 76 for six at the Sir Vivian Richards Ground in Antigua and Barbuda.

After captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and asked the visitors to take first strike, the home team's pacers got the ball rolling early with Roach sending back opener Mahmudul Hasan and number three batsman Najmul Shanto for no score with only three runs on the board.

Jayden Seales would also get in on the act, as he took care of former captain Monimul Haque, also for a duck, at 16 for three.

Opener Tamim Iqbal tried to steady the ship with four fours in his score of 29. However, Alzarri Joseph would get his name in the wickets column when he had Iqbal caught down the leg side by wicket-keeper Joshua Da Silva.

Kyle Mayers was then handed the ball and his impact was immediate, as he had Liton Das caught behind for 12, then he trapped wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan in front for a second-ball duck to leave the visitors in further peril at 45 for six.

Captain Shakib Al Hasan then came to the crease and decided to hit his way out of the pressure. He would ride his luck to go into lunch on 27 with one four and a six. Mehidy Hasan will resume after lunch on two.

Roach has so far taken two for 21 runs while Mayers has picked up two for 10.
