Security threat disrupts another Portland school
Another security threat forced the suspension of classes at a Portland school on Monday, prompting the evacuation of students and staff and the deployment of emergency responders.
The threat was reported at the Portland High School in Boundbrook, eastern Portland, a Seventh-day Adventist-operated institution, which activated its emergency alarm system shortly after 8 a.m.
The incident comes just days after classes were disrupted at the nearby Port Antonio High School, following a similar security threat last Friday.
According to reports, Monday's threat was made via an anonymous telephone call, triggering the swift evacuation of students and teachers from the rural school compound.
Fire personnel and police are currently at the scene, and the area surrounding the school has been cordoned off as security checks continue.
Investigations are ongoing.
