Man shot by police in Sligoville, St Catherine

A man was shot by the police during an alleged confrontation in Sligoville, St Catherine this morning.

Reports are that about 5 o’clock, police operatives conducted an operation in the area.

During the operation, the team was allegedly challenged by the man and was shot and injured by the police.

According to the police, a CZ-P pistol with a magazine containing 11 rounds was seized.

He was assisted to the Linstead Hospital, where he was admitted.

He is being held under police guard.

The incident is being probed by the Independent Commission of Investigations.
