St Catherine man charged for alleged Christmas Day rape of intoxicated woman who fell asleep
Detectives assigned to the St Catherine North Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) have charged a 34-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after she became intoxicated and fell asleep at a house on Christmas Day.
Charged with rape, indecent assault, and assault occasioning bodily harm is Dave Dacres, otherwise called ‘Crawb Up’, a construction worker of Lauriston in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Allegations are that about 11:00 p.m., Dacres sexually assaulted the woman after she became drunk and fell asleep at a house in the area.
It is being further alleged that the woman tried to escape but was attacked by Dacres, who armed himself with a pipe and struck her on the back.
She, however, managed to evade him and reported the incident to the police.
Dacres was later apprehended and taken into custody.
He was formally charged on Tuesday, December 30, following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being finalised.
