Classical music makes wine taste better

A recent study has found that listening to symphonies from Mozart and Beethoven enhances the perception of taste when enjoying a glass of red or white.

The research found that the more thrilling a piece of music becomes, the better the wine tastes.

Wine expert Susan Lin, who led the study, found that playing music while drinking champagne makes it taste both fruitier and bubblier.

Even people who disliked classical music preferred to drink with sound in the background rather than in silence.

Lin said: "When people thought the music was exciting, they felt the wine was exciting. And the more exciting it was, the bubblier the wine was perceived to be."
