With the return of the Avengers, a new epic by Christopher Nolan, and sequels to some iconic films, 2026 has some exciting film prospects. Here are our top nine picks.

1. Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

This film picks up where the hit series left off and sees Cillian Murphy return to give Thomas Shelby’s story a stirring conclusion that will hopefully leave fans satisfied.

2. Project Hail Mary

The directing duo of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller has made hits like The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. This time, they’re teaming up with Ryan Gosling for a sci-fi space epic.

3. Michael

After a delay in 2025, the story of Michael Jackson will finally be told on the big screen. Expect to hear the biggest hits and see how a music legend came to be known as the King of Pop.

4. The Devil Wears Prada 2

Miranda Priestly returns to set the world of fashion ablaze. Will it live up to the legacy of the first film? Probably not, but reuniting Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway is sure to be fun to watch.

5 . Disclosure Day

The mystery of the universe unfolds as humanity comes to terms with the knowledge that there are other beings among the stars. Disclosure Day is directed by veteran director Steven Spielberg.

6. The Odyssey

Christopher Nolan takes on the Greek epic. With a star-studded cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Lupita Nyong’o, it promises to be the film event of the year that can’t be missed.

7. Digger

Tom Cruise teams up with visionary director Alejandro G. Iñárritu for what’s described as “a comedy of catastrophic proportions”.

8. The Social Reckoning

The Social Network gets a status update. This sequel takes stock of the legacy of Facebook, its legal troubles of the last decade, and the societal impact of social media.

9. Avengers Doomsday

The Avengers assemble once again to face a new threat with an old face. Robert Downey Jr returns as the villainous Dr Doom. The Avengers will have to find allies in the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, in what could be the biggest superhero crossover film yet.
