National women's senior team assistant coach, Andrew Price, says his local-based squad will not be taking Barbados lightly when both countries clash in the Caribbean Football Union's (CFU) inaugural Women's Challenge series, today at the UWI/JFF/Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence starting at 3:30 p.m.

Barbados suffered a heavy 7-0 defeat to Cuba in Group B opening fixture on Wednesday at today's match venue. Despite that result, Price said his team is on a serious mission.

"We are not taking them for granted, despite the result that they had against Cuba. I want to get off to a good start so we are going out there to put in a good performance and win the game," Price told The Gleaner yesterday.

"Whenever, you are in a competition, you want to win games, but it is important for the girls to get in competition after two years of absence on the international stage," he shared.

"These games have come at an opportune time as we want to look at individuals who display the quality to be incorporated in the World Cup qualifiers side," Price said about the Women's Challenge that serves to give the Caribbean teams practice ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.
